Hisab
A quiet place to take account of your day.
حَاسِبُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُحَاسَبُوا
Take account of yourselves before you are taken to account.
ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb
What Hisab is
A daily muḥāsaba, kept private.
Hisab is a private daily muḥāsaba (self-accounting) journal for the Muslim seeker. It is a calm space to reflect on your day, weigh it honestly, and notice the long arc of your striving. It is built to be returned to gently, never to keep you scrolling.
Reflect, then weigh
A short daily check-in across the areas that matter to you, with a private sense of the day from 0 to 100. Guided when you want depth, minimal when you want speed.
Private by design
Your reflections and every score are end-to-end encrypted on your device before they sync. We store only ciphertext we cannot open.
Serene, not addictive
No feed, no streaks to break, no leaderboards, no ads. Beauty and stillness are the point. A tool for sincerity, never a dopamine machine.
Yours alone
Local-first, so it works fully offline. Export everything or delete your account entirely, any time, from inside the app.
Even we cannot read it.
A muḥāsaba is among the most honest records a person keeps, so Hisab is zero-knowledge by design. Your journal is encrypted with a key derived from a passphrase we never receive. Not us, and not anyone who reaches our servers, can read what you write.
